Comprehensive refurbishment and remodelling both externally and internally transformed this old department store in a prime location in central Shanghai into a new destination with restaurants, exhibition spaces and shops. The design was conceived as ‘a window open to Renmin Square’. The concept also refers to the stone frames used in Shanghai’s traditional ‘shikumen’. Haskoll delivered the scheme design within a short time period and ensured timely delivery of this high profile project in 2010
