Haskoll was invited to visit Xi’an participating in the Silk Road International Expo

On the 11th of May Haskoll visited Xi'an with the UK Department for International Trade (DIT), participating in the Silk Road International Expo sub-forum. They visited local governments, enterprises and development zones, holding in depth discussions with all parties on the cooperation of the whole industry chain for construction and infrastructure, on how to achieve the goal of energy saving and the transition to a low carbon environment and society.


This is the second time that DIT has participated in the Silk Fair. The UK was the guest of honor at the 3rd Silk Fair in 2018. It sent a delegation of nearly 200 people which was led by Rona Fairhead, the UK DIT minister for Export Promotion at that time to visit Shanxi Province.This was the largest delegation that Britain has sent to the northwestern region of China in recent years and demonstrates the UK’s professional commitment to infrastructure, education, healthcare, life sciencesand sustainable technologies in this region.


In December 2020, the British Ambassador Ruolan Wuvisited Xi'an. In addition to having an in-depth understanding of local historyand culture, Ambassador Wu emphasised the theme of green development and cooperation as a priority. The 26th United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP26) will be held in November this year in Glasgow. UK Ambassador Wu warmly invites Chinese companies to participate in international cooperation to address the pressing matter of climate change.
