Haskoll accompanied the British Embassy in China and DIT on a visit to CAUPD

On July 7th 2022, Tom Duke, the Deputy Trade Commissioner and Minister Counselor of the British Embassy in China, along with a delegation of British companies in China, visited the China Academy of Urban Planning and Design (CAUPD) to hold a cooperative meeting. Mr. Zhen Yang , the Managing Director of Haskoll, was invited to attend as a representative of British companies in China.

The two sides mainly discussed topics related to urban renewal, green and low-carbon development, and sustainable development in urban planning and construction. They reached certain consensus on promoting pragmatic cooperation between British companies and CAUPD.

Tom Duke believes that there is enormous potential for cooperation between China and the UK in the field of urban renewal, including urban planning, green infrastructure, intelligent technology, protection and utilization of historical and cultural heritage, housing renovation, project management, and other areas. He looks forward to further cooperation under the Memorandum of Understanding framework between relevant departments of the two countries, especially in the fields of low-carbon and green urban construction. He hopes that the two sides will conduct more technical exchanges and advance research on relevant international standards.

The meeting was attended by officials from the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development's Planning and Finance and Foreign Affairs Department, the British Department for International Trade's Infrastructure Department, CAUPD, Arup, BRE, Haskoll, Space Syntax, Zedfactory, and other enterprise representatives.
