Haskoll Chairman CCTV Interview

On March 9, 2016, Haskoll chairman Peter Goldsmith is interviewed by the “Global Business” Program of the CCTV-NEWS Channel as a representative of British famous investment companies in China. 

The interview aims to discuss the feelings of market changes, the current development and the prospects for the future of Foreign-invested enterprises in China. Especially under the changing environment that Chinese government is forcing stressed to implement the spirit of Eighteenth National Congress of the Party, promoting the construction of a clean and honest government and anti-corruption campaign. 

Peter mentioned that” We see the anti-corruption campaign as quite important because we think governments will be increasingly doing more work with the private sector in partnership. And therefore we will be doing work directly for governments. It is in our interests that business is done fairly, on the basis of merits. That's very important for our existence in China. We have confidence in the future city development in China because we found out that Haskoll recent projects in third-tier cities with local governments and public companies has grown.” He believed that the anti-corruption campaign in China will make effort to clean up the market environment, eliminate the obstacles of market operation mechanism and make the economic development more sustainable and healthier.
