In the evening of 3 December 2015, the British Council of Shopping Centers held a dinner party in London Grosvenor House, and announced that Birmingham train station shopping center project designed by Haskoll gained its top honor - BCSC Gold Best New Centre 2015.

It is reported that this award has a long history of more than 30 years, and it has great influence and authoritative. The juries of the reward are all famous architects, urban designers and master planning experts. It aims to select the best commercial landmark design projects in UK.

Haskoll has won the prize many times including the Gold Award for In-Town Retail Scheme, Established Award, which are the top honor of the British Council of Shopping Centers.

The project is one of the renovate projects of London city designed by Haskoll. Mick Miller, Project investor spokesman, said that it is the most complex engineering projects in the related field, because Birmingham has the largest passenger flow in London. After the designer’s investigation and analysis of the original architecture, urban economic needs and space texture, we renovated the large-scale shopping center built in 1971, and also connected to the rail transportation hub. We also successfully built more than 60 stores in the area of 45,000 square meters, including John Lewis as the main department store, and stores, cafes, restaurants and other commercial facilities.

Birmingham City Council leader Sir Albert Bore also believe that this shopping center renovation project will make the Birmingham New Street railway station rise to world-class level, and also make tremendous contributions to the prosperity of Birmingham southern region through the hard word of Haskoll and the delivery part.
