UK Hunan Business Conference

The UK Humam Business Conference was held in London on 16th March 2017 at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel, Knightsbridge, London, attended by business leaders from the UK and high level delegates from Hunan Province including Chinese Embassador to the UK, Deputy Mayor of Zhuzhou City, Head of Bank of China and the Head of ICBC. 

Peter Goldsmith, Chairman Haskoll China presented the extensive work that Haskoll are doing across China in designing projects in this new wave of urbanisation in the wake of the One Belt One Road policy. 

He explained how China’s cities need high quality public space and human scaled social environments. With the growth of transportation connections including the high speed train links, a significant opportunity lies in the maximizing of commercial potential of the new stations and transport nodes in the newly rising provincial cities like Zhuzhou.

Also with the increase in wealth of the professional and entrepreneurial classes, environments that build on Chinese culture and historical heritage are of increasing importance. 

Peter presented a selection of high quality projects that Haskoll China have designed both in UK and across China that illustrate how successful they are at delivering design that exemplies the future for China’s urban development.
